چکیده

Stormwater remains the sole source of aquifer recharge in Gaza strip, which should be utilized properly through artificial infiltration. The study objective is to investigate and analyze infiltration efficiency three large exiting basins strip (Alamal, Asadaqa, Waqf) using different techniques. technique applied Ala-mal basin natural surface spreading stormwater while Asadaqa used combined with graveled boreholes. Waqf non-graveled boreholes (empty shafts cased UPVC pipes). rate were recorded estimated for each during 2021-2022 wet season compared a past 2017-2018 at water depth 1.70 m. revealed that, actual capacity was as 2,000 m3/day season, twice that an 57.47 %, attributed 18 drilled boreholes, enhanced seepage into underlying soil. has lowest 3.90 % due continuous accumulation thick dense sediment layer on floor, nonchanged (around 2,800 m3/day) between two studied seasons. On oth-er hand, Alamal only 4.60 629 105.4 dur-ing seasons, respectively where some repair upgrade works performed but still far from design capacity. For future studies, thoroughly investigated novel method, deep factors af-fecting process.

Hydrologic Model Developed for Stormwater Infiltration Practices

Rain garden (RG) has been developed and applied to low-impact designs for the purpose of water quality enhancement. A RG consists of a surface storage basin and subsurface infiltrating layers. The storage basin is designed to be shallow, flat, and wide with an overtopping weir to pass excessive flows, while the subsurface infiltrating system is composed of two layers of filtering media. The upp...

Streptococcus pneumoniae Carriage in the Gaza Strip

BACKGROUND Pneumococcal infections cause major morbidity and mortality in developing countries. We report the epidemiology of S. pneumoniae carriage in a developing region, the Gaza strip, and evaluate the theoretical coverage of carriage strains by pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs). METHODOLOGY In 2009 we conducted a cross-sectional survey of S. pneumoniae carriage in healthy children a...
